It’s Dangerous Out There

I attended the Dangerous Blog Workshop by Katie Mac this week and it opened up a whole new realm to me. The premise is what holds us back when we write articles, blogs or whatever from what we really believe in.

We all have a story to tell and values we hold true to. We all are unique with our own knowledge, experience and wisdom with insights like no one else, so why don’t we say what we really think.  What part of us is fearful of being judged or offending others?

I believe everyone has a part of his or her soul that is yearning to come out and be revealed. Until you discover your personal essence there is a part of you that is locked away unable to shine. Once you discover the real you, your authentic self and express it in the way you dress life becomes easier. And you are now placed to be the grandest version of your most magnificent self.

And yet society says if we spend too much effort on how we look we are vain and not focused on the real meaning of life. We could be seen as egotistical or a ‘Tall Poppy’.

Not so, I say, everyone deserves to shine in his or her own light and to express their creativity in the way they dress.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate: Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.’    from A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson.

Discovering your personal style is a journey that uncovers parts of you, you hadn’t considered. Yes it is challenging but what in life isn’t. If I didn’t push my clients they wouldn’t achieve their full potential.

I’ve worked with hundreds of women and men to gain clarity around their presence and their Brand Identity.   It’s not just about getting dressed or dressing to your body shape as you might think, it’s much more. It’s discovering your own Style Signature, which reflects your inner essence, your personality and your lifestyle.

First you need to know who you are, then you can work out where you’re going so you can dress for the journey. I challenge my clients to their very existence to develop a Brand Identity that is distinctive, confident and authentic. Understanding what challenges you in the way you dress allows me to create a style that is uniquely yours.

And you will glow in the knowledge that you are unique and being the person you most want to be.
