Living My Purpose
Would you consider experimenting with your life, to push yourself outside your known comfort zones?
Well Kylie Dunn did just that with her ‘Year of TED’ project. To build a more fulfilled life, Kylie during one year completed twenty one, 30 day activities to reconnect with who she is and what she wanted from life. So for 30 days she focussed on completing one activity to expose her vulnerability.
30 Days of Fashion

One of the activities was 30 Days of Fashion, that is Kylie’s primary focus was to focus on her clothes. You might say what fun to use fashion as your focus to look and feel great all day. Well for Kylie this was confronting as she used her clothes to hide behind and blend in rather than stand out. Her aim was to remain invisible to those around her and fade into the background. I find this sad as an Image Consultant I come across women like this too often.
I’m Worth It
If you ever have felt you are not worthy and not interesting enough you could understand Kylie’s dilemma. Her project of vulnerability gave her public accountability as she had to do it and had to push through her known comfort zones. It gave her permission to say I’m worth it as in the past she would keep her beautiful clothes locked away and only worn for ‘best’.
Just Do It

The only criteria Kylie set for herself was to complete the task, not whether it was successful. So Kylie experimented with the concept and made it a fun activity she could play around with. Shopping at Op Shops she was able to dress creatively in a way she never had before.
So full marks to Kylie who gave herself permission to say I’m worth it and give it a go. And most of all it gave her self compassion, the ability to shift her mindset and to build a more fulfilled life.
